How does it work?
It's simple. To make an outbound call, callback customer calls the DCI access number. After ONE ring, subscriber hangs up. (There is no charge for this call). DCI's switch now calls calls the subscriber back and provides the DCI dial tone. (Free inbound call) .
Dial-through users have already registered the DCI access number as one of their "favourites" and will get a dial tone immediately. There is no need to wait for a callback.
From the DCI dial tone, cellular subscriber can now make multiple local calls for only 2¢ per minute or $12.95 / month, flat fee. Is it legal?
Yes. It is 100% legal and we have a written "legal opinion" from a prominent Ottawa law firm to prove this. Our service only takes advantage of your cellular provider's existing pricing structure that does not charge its customers for inbound and uncompleted outbound calls. It's 100% legal because you are simply benefiting from pricing features already inherent in your cellular service contract to minimize your airtime charges.
How much can you save?
That depends of course on how many calls you make each month but let's say your cellular plan, costs $25 per month and outbound minutes cost 35¢ each. If you do 100 outbound minutes, it'll cost you an extra $35. With either DCI callback or dial-through, you can reduce that cost to 2¢ per minute or maximum $12.95 per month. There is a one time activation fee of $9.95. After that you pay only 95¢ per month for the service and 2¢ per minute for usage, or $12.95 per month for unlimited local calls.
